It's been a rainy, windy, and cold week and we're looking forward to next week's weather to bookend the season :).
For some folks who receive their CSA shares bi-weekly, this is the last week of the program. Next week we'll be sending out a final farewell message that will include details about our early-bird pricing for next years CSA program.
For folks who are receiving their shares every week, next Friday (Oct 28) will be the final week of the CSA program.
Help us improve - we'd love to hear from you!
It can be difficult to make major changes to our operations once a season is in motion, but the time between seasons is perfect for considering and making big changes.
We're hoping you'll take a minute or two to fill out our 2022 CSA Season Survey. The survey asks a variety of questions with the intention of finding out what you liked, and most importantly, what you didn't like. Any major issues, minor annoyances, nit-picks, or fleeting comments are fair game and genuinely welcome.

Parsnips
This week's shares will include Parsnips! This is the first time we've grown
parsnips and have considered this an experimental crop. Overall the plants did very well, though they do take a long time to grow - the whole season. Next year we'll move our seeding date forward by a few weeks to try to get bigger roots by harvest time.
This week's share also includes carrots and thyme - so if you're not quite sure how to use your parsnips, you might want to try this recipe we found and liked:
This Week's CSA Share

Bok Choy
Onion
Spinach
Winter Squash
Garlic
Carrots

Food Bank Donations
So far this season we've donated over 3,200 pounds of fresh produce to our local food banks. Most of our donated produce goes to Kawartha Lakes Food Source, a fantastic charitable organization that distributes to many food banks within Kawartha Lakes.
A big thank you to all of our CSA customers who support our operation and make this possible!
