‘Big Beef’ is one of the most reliable beefsteak tomatoes you can grow. It produces large, smooth, meaty fruits averaging 350–450g (¾–1 lb) with rich, balanced flavour, perfect for slicing onto sandwiches, burgers, or enjoying fresh with a little salt and olive oil.
 
Because it’s an indeterminate variety, it will continue growing and producing tomatoes all season long until frost.
 
We start our tomato seedlings indoors and grow them for 5–8 weeks under controlled conditions. Plants are hardened off before pickup and timed to reach ideal transplant maturity around May 20th, which is generally considered a safe last frost date in our area.
 
We intentionally avoid overgrowing our plants. Slightly younger, sturdy transplants establish better and handle spring weather more reliably than oversized, leggy plants.
