‘Sweet Success’ is one of the earliest long English-style cucumbers you can grow. It produces abundant, dark green, 9–11” fruits with smooth skin and a crisp, mild, bitter-free flavour, perfect for fresh eating straight from the garden.
 
Because it is parthenocarpic, this variety does not require pollination to set fruit. That means earlier harvests and reliable production, even during cool or unsettled spring weather. It performs beautifully in both open garden beds and protected spaces like greenhouses or tunnels.
 
We start our cucumber seedlings indoors and grow them under controlled conditions to reach ideal transplant size around May 20th, which is generally considered a safe last frost date in our area.
 
Cucumbers dislike being rootbound or overgrown, so we intentionally grow sturdy, well-balanced transplants that establish quickly and take off once planted.
