Problems & Pests
Storage
Fresh basil should be stored at room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
Place the basil stem-side down in a glass of water, like you would a bouquet of flowers, and cover the leaves with a plastic bag.
Keep the basil away from ethylene-producing fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes and apples, to prevent wilting.
Change the water daily and trim the stems to promote freshness.
Use within a week for best results, or store basil leaves in an airtight container in the freezer for longer storage.
