Well, we've made it! It's been nearly eight months since we started our first seeds indoors and today we'll be completing our final harvesting tasks for this season's CSA program. Overall the season has been great! We've had a few challenges and losses, but nothing that threatened the integrity of the program or our ability to deliver our veggies to our members. We've improved many of our processes and honed our understanding of many crops, and with a season's worth of notes we have plenty to improve upon next season.
To all of you who joined us this season, we'd like to extend a big thank you and say how grateful we've felt to have had such kind, understanding, and gracious people to interact with each week. We hope to see you next season!
Growing our Team
Looking ahead to next season, we're starting our search for new people to join our rag-tag team.
We're looking for a few keen people who don't mind physical work, spending their days outside, and are interested in learning about and taking part in vegetable production from seed to harvest. Our working season will run from May until November and will be structured around a 40-hour, 5 day work-week.
We'll be posting more detailed job descriptions in the coming weeks but if you or someone you know may be interested in joining us, keep us in mind or let us know now by emailing hello@brandestonfarm.ca.
Don't miss the Early Bird
Don't forget that our early bird sign up for next season is now open until the end of November. During the early bird period you can reserve your spot in next season's CSA program at this season's pricing.
We'd love to hear what you think
If you haven't filled out our CSA Season Survey, we'd love to hear your thoughts about this season's program!
We've received plenty of great feedback already like requests for more garlic, larger tomatoes, and fewer radish. All of these are things we can act on to refine next season to make the program even better.
If you have a few minutes to spare and wouldn't mind taking our survey, follow the link below:

Food Bank Support
So far this season we've donated over 3,500 pounds of fresh produce to our local food banks through the Kawartha Lakes Food Source. Thanks to all of you who support our operation and make this possible :).
